Family owned and operated by the Lovitz Family for three generations, Talk of the Walk first opened its doors on the famed boardwalk of Atlantic City in 1951. As moderation gave way to opulence in Atlantic City, Talk of the Walk mirrored this evolution, opening its first upscale women's boutique in the exclusive Appian Way Shops of Caesar's Boardwalk Regency in August of 1979. Immediately identified by the influx of fashionable clientele as "the store" to find the most unique and exciting fashions of the day, Talk of the Walk quickly built an iconic reputation for excellence and a following to prove it. With the great success of its store in Caesars, Talk of the Walk began to expand its operation, opening a second location in Tropicana that ran for ten fruitful years during the 1980s, and thereafter adding locations in Harrah's, Resorts and Trump Marina. Talk of the Walk has continually evolved to meet the demands of tastes in style and fashion, yet it has never lost touch with the core element that sets it apart from other women's retailers: a passion to find those items that woman have always been looking for, but have never been able to find. To this day, the Lovitz Family personally travels far and wide in order to find those items that will get their customers the compliments they have come to expect from Talk of the Walk merchandise.
With over twenty five years of industry leadership, including a seat on the advisory board of the leading Manhattan apparel and accessories trade show "MODA MANHATTAN" and "ACCESSORIES THE SHOW", Talk of the Walk has established itself as a consummate women's retailer. As a multi-location operation, Talk of the Walk is able to carry a diverse range of categories in a depth and representation that is unattainable for a single store. With this infrastructure in place, Talk of the Walk is able to deliver a wide range of new and distinctive outwear and leathers, handbags and accessories, fashionable sportswear and elegant evening attire.
Moreover, Talk of the Walk's unique retail strategy includes a constant flow of new merchandise hitting the stores daily, as well as aggressive in-season markdowns. The net result of this strategy is a dynamic retail environment that is both fresh and accessible.
Renowned for customer service, its sales associates make lasting relationships with their customers that enable them to make appropriate suggestions, both to the customers and the buyers. This personal service extends beyond the walls of the stores, as its associates keep their loyal customers up-to-date on the newest arrivals that fit their specific taste. With a broad knowledge base of classic women's apparel, current trends in the market and individual stylistic inclinations, Talk of the Walk's sales staff firmly stand behind their commitment to complete customer satisfaction.
When taken together, it is no wonder that Talk of the Walk has received numerous awards and accolades over the years. Frequently voted by the readers of Casino Player Magazine as the "Best Individual Shop" in Atlantic City, as well as many "Best of Atlantic City" awards in Atlantic City Magazine, Talk of the Walk has consistently proven itself worthy of its excellent reputation. Talk of the Walk has also received national television recognition, twice appearing on Fox's nationally syndicated Ambush Make-Over, as well as on cable television's The Style Network. Given its relatively small size, Talk of the Walk has without a doubt made a big impact on many people.
Beyond the world of retail, Talk of the Walk has always made a concerted effort to play an active role in the community. It has been the recipient of numerous "Awards of Excellence from the United Way of Atlantic County" for its outstanding employee contribution program and its corporate pledges. It has sponsored several community groups in need of funding, never turning down an opportunity to reach out and assist whenever possible. Over the course of many years Talk of the Walk has also been closely involved with both the Miss New Jersey and Miss America Pageants, on many occasions even providing the dresses worn by the contestants on the runway.
In the past two years, Talk of the Walk has diversified its brand with ventures into non-gaming resort markets in Stone Harbor and Long Beach Island New Jersey. The success of these ventures has confirmed Talk of the Walk's broad appeal, opening up a wealth of possibilities beyond the casino markets. With several new projects currently underway outside the Northeast, Talk of the Walk is taking steps to bring its unique take on the classic boutique to select resort markets nationwide.
